Story:
Before: An energetic couple was tired of their poorly designed and desperately dated kitchen.
After: A functional kitchen for 2 cooks with space for guests to mingle and enjoy the showstopping tile backsplash.
Highlights:
- A reconfigured kitchen allows for 2 cooks to work comfortable together.
- Countertop overhangs were created so guests would have a place to sit and enjoy wine while entertaining. The stools can tuck under the countertop for out-of-the-way storage when not in use.
- A combination of walnut base cabinets and painted wall cabinets were used to add a touch of warmth and sophistication while keeping the space bright and open.
- A custom tile backsplash was designed with a local tile maker and lets the homeowners creative personalities shine.
- The slate blue Italian range perfectly compliments the colors and character of the backsplash.
- New pieces of hardwood flooring were laced in with the original to keep an authentic vibe.
- Touches of champagne gold were used on much of the hardware to bring additional warmth to the space.
