Story:
Before: A compact kitchen with no room to expand was desperately in need of a face lift and functional upgrades for more efficient use.
After: The fresh new look, along with smart cabinetry details and accessories, make big use of this South Minneapolis kitchen.
Hightlights:
- Marvin Windows resemble the original character of the 1920s home, with insulated glass for energy efficiency
- Under-mount stainless steel sink with a single deep bowl for filling large pots
- Kohler Bellera high-arc faucet with pull-down spray spout adds functional style
- Badger 5XP food waste disposal is quiet as well as compact, to maximize under-sink storage
- Task lighting was added in the form of under-cabinet lights, while the central ceiling light fixture was replaced for additional wattage and a splash of fun!
- Fully custom cabinetry allows for every inch of space to be designed for efficiency
- White cabinets keep the petite kitchen light and airy, while the dining room cabinets were skillfully stained to match the home’s original woodwork
- Ceiling soffits have been removed to allow for taller upper cabinets, while lower cabinets are filled with drawers to ease accessibility
- The narrow lower cabinet next to the range was fitted with a roll-out rack for full access to the once unusable space
- Opalescence granite countertops are a classic, yet updated look with lasting durability
- Solid oak flooring blends with the original dining room floors
- Classic white ceramic subway tile backsplash for style and cleanliness
- Stainless appliances and cabinet hardware add a subtle contemporary flare
- Kitchen walls painted with Glidden Softest Juniper, and white cabinetry and trim painted in Sherwin Williams Extra White
