Story:
Before: A family of four was quickly outgrowing their kitchen and the vintage appliances were beginning to show their age.
After: A kitchen the whole family can enjoy with room to spread out.
Highlights:
- The view from the front door into the kitchen was a primary concern, no appliances were to be visible. Staggering cabinet depths and a partial wall help to accomplish this goal
- Reincorporating the breakfast nook into the kitchen added much needed cabinet storage and useable countertop space
- The custom green painted cabinets give the room a warmth and liveliness year round
- Natural light from the existing windows is supplemented with versatile ambient and task lighting
- Several layers of flooring were removed before new hardwood was installed and stained to match the rest of the main floor
- Multiple workstations allow the entire family to use the kitchen at the same time
- An 18″ dishwasher is big on functionality while saving space for more storage
- A 3-D rendering of the room helps to envision the new kitchen during the design phase
