Story:
Before: A basement used primarily for storage was the perfect place for this south Minneapolis family to spread out.
After: A finished basement with a generous family room for hosting movie nights, a cozy new home office, and an additional bathroom. With plenty of storge in the mechanical room which is hidden away behind closed doors.
Highlights Basement:
- Original posts and beams were left exposed to bring warmth and unique style to the space
- A custom walnut handrail combined with a walnut slat wall and bathroom vanity carry the wood accents throughout the basement
- Neutral finishes on the walls, trims, and carpet let the bold wallpaper accent walls pop
- Plush carpet keeps feet warm and cozy in the living room and office
- An egress window allows natural light to brighten the living area
Highlights Bathroom:
- A colorful custom terrazzo floor runs through the entire bathroom and camouflages a linear drain at the back of the curbless shower
- A custom walnut slat wall provides a visual barrier while a clear glass panel keeps the shower contained
- The vanity sconce lights, plumbing fixtures, and bathroom accessories highlight the green and champagne gold colors in the terrazzo flooring
