Bryn Mawr Basement

Story:

Before: An outdated 1970’s basement with awkward storage, popcorn ceilings, and very little daylight.

After: Clean. Fresh. Bright. An unassuming, yet impressively beautiful multi-use space.

Highlights:

  • New Marvin Windows with cedar beam window well provides access, while also pouring light into the once dark basement
  • Careful lighting brings illumination from wall to wall
  • New wool carpeting further compliments and brightens the space
  • Custom built-in cabinetry houses everything from books and games, to colorful art and artifacts
  • A new pocket door into the mechanical room makes access easy and unobtrusive
  • Low ductwork and mechanicals, typically found in Minneapolis and St Paul basements, were reworked to accentuate the flow and maximize the ceiling height
  • The open floor plan and furniture arrangement result in a space that is comfortable and adaptable
