Story:
Before: An unfinished cold storage second level in a charming Northeast Minneapolis Tudor home.
After: Plenty of warmth and natural light from new skylights are brought together with custom details to create a cozy and beautiful bedroom, office, and reading room.
Highlights:
- Millwork throughout to match the existing detail of the home
- Doorway and wall at the bottom of the stairs were removed to make way for an open, more welcoming landing detail, which matches the new balustrade at the top of the stairs
- A comfortable and open bedroom with ample closet storage in a layout that defines the separate spaces without closing them off
- Original wide plank wood floor brought back to life with care and craftsmanship
- Substantial skylights allow for treetop views and ideal daytime reading light
- Closed cell spray foam, new heating and air conditioning, and insulated Marvin windows ensure a comfortable space all year round
